PArC-AVE II
PArC-AVE II
The acronym PArC-AVE stands for Physical Activity-related Health Competence in Apprenticeship and Vocational Education. As a subproject of the research network Capital4Health, PArC-AVE follows the overarching goal of developing and implementing interventions to promote capabilities for an active lifestyle.

The primary aim of PArC-AVE is the promotion of Physical Activity-related Health Competence (PAHCO) among apprentices in nursing care and automotive mechatronics. To achieve this, two cooperative planning processes were realised in the first funding phase (2015-2018). These cooperative planning processes involved different relevant stakeholders in science, policy and practice and succeeded in the development and implementation of PAHCO-based interventions and structural changes to promote physical activity in vocational education.
Beside the primary aim, the second funding phase (2018-2021) focuses on the following further aspects: (a) the transfer of cooperative planning processes into new settings, (b) the analysis of the relationship between the subjective perception of physical workload and PAHCO and (c) the long-term evaluation of PAHCO and structural changes in the settings of the first funding phase.
The transfer of cooperative planning processes into other settings provides a basis for the extensive implementation of physical activity promotion in vocational education. Furthermore, new insights are gained into the complex relationship between the subjective perception of physical workload and PAHCO in the transition from vocational education to regular work. In addition, the long-term evaluation of PAHCO and structural changes allows a review of the sustainability of the measures developed and implemented in the first funding phase. With the PArC-AVE project, the “Physical Activity and Health“ Division is thus making a substantial contribution to the so far scarcely explored field of physical activity promotion among apprentices.
