IMPALA – Improvement of infrastructures for physical activities in leisure time, at municipal level (2009-2010)
The project “Improving of infrastructures for physical activities in leisure time, at municipal level” (funded by DG SANCO 2009-2010) aimed at identifying, implementing and disseminating good practice in planning, financing, building and managing local infrastructures supporting physical activity in leisure time.
The project involved 26 partner institutions from 12 European countries. IMPALA aims to support the development of an EU-wide approach to improving local infrastructures for recreational physical activity and to help reduce inequalities in access to such infrastructures within and between European countries.
This is the central result of the project: the Proposal for European Guidelines for the Improvement of Physical Activity Infrastructures at Municipal Level – Towards Social Equality, Intersectoral Collaboration and Participation.
