Part-time Bachelor’s in Sports Science
The BA in Sports Science started in the winter semester 2016/17.
FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund, “DOSB”) are cooperation partners for the part-time B.A. in Sports Science. The aim of the programme is to enable DOSB-licenced trainers, trainers and club managers to pursue further career paths in the sports sector (e.g. sports associations/associations, health care) by means of part-time sports science studies.
The competences acquired in the DOSB training courses and in practice are individually accredited as previous achievements in the course of studies. On this basis, basic competences in sports science are developed or refined. Building on this, vocational field orientation is carried out in the following key areas:
- “Education in organised sport” or
- “Movement-related occupational health management.”
The course is designed in the innovative blended learning format. Adapted to the target group, a high proportion of distance learning (independent study, e-learning, internships) alternates with attendance phases (approx. 11 days per semester).
Access to the programme is possible in several ways (also without an ‘Abitur’ school-leaving certificate). The course concludes with the conferring of the internationally recognised title of Bachelor of Arts.
