Kaunas is the centre of the administrative district of Kaunas and the second-largest city in Lithuania, with approx. 360,000 inhabitants. Kaunas lies at the confluence of the Memel and Neris rivers about 100 km west of the capital, Vilnius. In addition to a diversified economy favoured by the city’s location, there are several universities and many galleries in Kaunas. |
